who we are

We are a UK based company founded in 1969 that uses patented hardfacing technology to provide products and services worldwide. Our aim is to reduce downtime costs and to increase productivity by solving issues associated with abrasion, erosion and corrosion in the fields of mineral processing and materials handling.

Our team has an unrivalled wealth of experience in the industry. We are proud to say that more than 50% of our employees have over 25 years of continual service. David, the longest serving of our WR Ltd family has been with us for over 50 years.

In-House Design

We are equipped with AutoCAD facilities, allowing us to offer a tailored design and manufacturing service for many types of equipment as well as the supply and fitting of hardfaced components.

Unique Integral Countersunk Bolt Fixing

This feature, developed by us, allows countersunk bolts to be inserted into the wear plate before application of the hardfacing. This provides essential security fixings which overall prevents preferential wear over the bolt heads, a common problem with other fixing methods.

Comprehensive Workshop Facility

We have extensive new build manufacturing capabilities and specialist refurbishment capacity in our 20,000 sq ft workshop.

Quality Control

As an ISO 9000 company we ensure all of our materials and components are tested in-house so we can maintain consistent quality.

Bespoke Formulation

We manufacture our own range of Tungsten Carbide and Chromium Carbide consumables, ensuring consistency of quality and the ability to adapt our formulation to suit individual applications and customers specifications when required.

Crusher Roll Shells
Supply and refurbishment of hardfaced hammers using a wide variety of base materials with both Chromium Carbide and Tungsten Carbide deposits as appropriate.

Fabricated and hardfaced Crusher Grid assembly in four sections, for hammer mill.
Crusher Grids
This set of components was supplied with 2 x 5mm thick layers of Sintered Tungsten Carbide deposit on all items.
Cutter Suction Dredger Wear Plates
Screen plate for the 3 to 5mm size fraction, with tapered slot form (TSF) for anti-blinding properties.
Fines Screen Mat
Plasma cut screen plates for the 12 to 18mm and 7 to 10mm size fractions.
Hearth Layer Screen Mat
This Strand seal flap, 3.9 metres long x 1.633 metres wide, is fabricated and formed from 4 on 12mm Grade HD2 Chromium Carbide plate.
Sinter Strand Sealing Flap
These two sets of single inlet impeller wear components illustrate the integral countersunk bolt fixing in the nose liners, blade liners and the back sheet wear plates.
Impeller Wear Components
Manufacture and repair of impellers is carried out in our workshop by our fully trained staff. We have access to comprehensive balancing facilities.
Coal Exhauster Impeller
Liner manufactured with press formed corners replacing previous fabricated configuration which failed prematurely due to weld fatigue. Screen insert secured with integral countersunk bolt fixing.
Vibratory Feeder Liner with Screen Insert

Manufacture of hardfaced roller bodies ground to 100% clean up, and refurbishment of assemblies carried out in our works.
Cantilever Rollers
Our latest generation of impellers incorporates solid Sintered Tungsten Carbide nosepieces for ultimate life in this challenging application.

Our Featured projects

Paddle Feeder Arms

Most recently we manufactured six full supply 11ft 6″ Paddle Feeder Arms for the steel industry. We Hard surfaced them with our patented Grade WRST Sintered Tungsten Carbide on the primary wear areas and Complex Chromium Carbide deposits elsewhere.

Vibrating Screen Deck Mats

One of our latest projects is a set of 8.5m x 3.5m Vibrating Screen Deck Mats. These have been hardfaced with Chrome Carbide hardfacing.

120° Conical Chute Liner

Last year we manufactured a 120° Conical Chute Liner. It’s 1500mm long 1016/1148 Ø and hardfaced internally with 5mm WRST Tungsten Carbide overlay.

Dredger Wearing Ring

We have manufactured a Wearing Ring for a Cutter Suction Dredger. We have used our patented method to hardface the ring with WRST Tungsten Carbide overlay.

Hardsurfaced Rollers
